MarShe had a good point. We all know how deeply annoying it is when anyone is noisy when you are trying (for once!) to study in a supposedly quiet place. But the problems were:
- She directed it toward a particular race
- She commented on the lifestyles of the race before getting to the point
- She mentioned the tsunami that hit Japan and did not seem sympathetic about it
- She is a victim of the color of her hair.
Seriously, if she just did NOT mention race, if she just focused on proper manners in the library without directing it to a particular race, this video would have been a quiet hit instead of a noisy scandal. She could have cussed all she wanted too, as long as it wasn’t directed toward a particular race.
She should have stopped when she realized she wasn’t going to be politically correct. She studies political science, she should know how these things work. I guess her statement of apology alludes to her understanding of her failure to frame the issue properly.
And seriously, stop commenting on her boobs.

MarTsunami
As I’m sure everybody has heard, early on Friday, March 10, 2011, there was a tsunami that hit Japan that resulted from a 8.9 magnitude earthquake. The death toll is currently up to 900 and still rising, and there is an added threat of a small nuclear contamination due to the exposure of fuel rods in a Fukushima nuclear power plant.
There is a lot to be said about this horrific incident that has struck one of the most powerful countries in Asia. It reminds us all about the fragility of life, and the unpredictability of death. The disaster humbles us, and lets us remember that despite all the problems that society (and the international community) inevitably creates, we are all just human, and human enough to put aside politics for a while in order to lend help when it is most needed. The U.S. together with China, Korea and other countries and nonprofit organizations around the globe are rapidly transporting help to the shores of Japan. This reaction of the international community is a heartbreakingly beautiful thing that no one will get to admire, because times like these are meant for action, not emotional sentiments.
It’s times like these when I hope there really is a higher being out there that can help out these people recover their lives again.

Sepits tough when you realize…
…that you haven’t been using much of your brain in a while.
Ok, so i am currently taking a Philosophy 100 class (Introduction to Philosophy), and the proffessor, Sir Wayne Yuen, discussed his own definition of Philosophy:
A field of study that examines basic assumptions.
Cool. and then I saw this paragraph as i was reading Gizmodo:
Even if there’s a case to be made for keeping different sets of friends in each network—my gamer friends have terrible taste in music, while the music nerds suck at gaming—it’s hard to see why Apple effectively forces you to be schizophrenic, iterating different versions of yourself across services run by a single company. It’s two more networks, two more statuses, two more identities to maintain. And if you have a MobileMe account, that’s a third. (Why isn’t MobileMe free again? It would make this all so simple.) Even Google, notoriously allergic to the word “cohesive,” has you maintain a single identity across all 10 bajillion of its products, from Google Talk to Tsunami.
The bolded and italicized sentence is the author’s (possibly comically exaggerated) assumption of what Apple was thinking when they decided (explicitly or otherwise) to separate your “identity” between the two social networks that they have just launched.
That’s really another issue entirely. My point is that, as I was reading this, I thought, “wow, that’s something i probably wouldn’t think about right away.” That bit of thought was a little depressing, really, because then I realized that my recent waking days are filled with the physical and practical acts, and has less and less of the introspective and intellectual thoughts.
…that’s about all I have to say. See what I mean?

MayMen are from Venus (??)
By the time I was in my late teens, I’ve been trained to think that guys have this how-to-treat-girls moral code of ethics. Like opening the door, or helping you carry your heavy stuff, or not pushing you, or not letting you fall off his car when you’re sitting on the hood by driving slowly and not turning suddenly so that you not fall then say sorry about it when you do then hand you back your phone that he stole which was why you were sitting in the car in the first place because he wanted to leave with it…
wait, what was i talking about?
OH, yeah, guys and how they act. yeah, they don’t have that code of ethics. they have an idea about how to act, and they know what to do in extreme cases (like not punching you even when you’re being a bitch) but most of the time, they treat you like friends.
and that may or may not entail the chivalrous acts of opening doors and offering to carry heavy things, but really, its the 21st century. women have fought for the equal rights that we have now, we shouldn’t expect to be treated like princesses when we can handle our business ourselves. and we should, for the most part.
sometimes frustration happens because we assume that guys should always know how to act towards us, but what may seem like a big deal to us may not seem the same to them. and that’s perfectly ok.
so in conclusion, men are from venus, and women are from mars. (confusing huh.)

Mayi’m so gonna get an A
So in the middle of my math study session, i craved some apple pie. I drove out to get some, then got coffee, nuts and dried mangoes on the way. Then when i drove back, there was a parking spot right in front of my apartments. Now, i have brain food, coffee AND i don’t have to walk far tomorrow. EPIC WIN.
